- dinner and a movie

Last night, Dave and I ate at Dee, a Thai restaurant by us, and it was mmm mmm so good. (i got tofu pad cee ew, oh man so delicious)We had an urge to travel to a pet store to buy a creature to love, so we went to Petco in Union Square shortly after, just to look around. I want a rat and Dave wants a reptile or fish, but we have very limited space for another living thing in this room, so I think we're holding off. Then, we headed to see Man on Wire, FINALLY! It's this awesome documentary/dramatization of this French highwire walker who actually walked on a tightrope between the Twin Towers in nyc in the 70s. This guy actually got not only himself and 3 other accomplices onto the two roofs while the area was still under construction, but also several hundred pounds of equipment and wire (duh). Not only did he get all this stuff up there, but he strung up a crazy anchoring system and managed to avoid several close calls with security. It was truly an amazing film, and there were so many parallels between this stunt and what happened on 9/11--it was weird and moving at the same time. It's on dvd but was also playing at the Sunshine theaters, so I advise anyone who's interested to check it out.
I also got cheesecake to eat in the theater but it was a fail. Sugar Bakery, you make shitty 5 dollar slices of cheesecake.
Andrew and Hendryx came over also and we played Cranium and Buzz, and that was fun. We need more clay.
This morning I called the restaurant I've been doing coat check for and told them I wasnt coming in tonight. They aren't paying me at all (I work off tips) and the other night I worked for like 5 hours and made only 40 bucks so I said fuck that. Plus it's boring as shit just sitting around waiting. Dave and I went to Beacon's Closet instead (in hipsterville aka willyb) and I got jeans and a denture ice cube tray! ahahah. Ridiculous.
It's 12:30 AM and I have drawing class at 10 AM. FUcking hunter CLOSE YOUR DOORS FOR THE MEGA-STORM. Yeah right. I doubt they will. 2 years in and we still never had a snow day. I should get to sleep cause the trek to class with my big ass portfolio in several inches of wet snow is going to be SOOO FUN.
bythe by, Revenge of the Nerds=awesome movie.
